I had a stupid idea, but I'll post it, and you'll tell me what it's worth.
since Israel is telling the population where it will hit, and since they claim that they are trying not to target the civilians and they want us to evacuate the targeted areas, why not do the opposite?
if we can get the media and the anti war population to go to the targeted area, and if we just have a sit in, will they hit us?

I'm a bit scared to find out. But maybe it's worth a shot.
I just feel wrong supporting a risky action in which I can't participate. Is there anything we can do on this side of the fence?
Another idea (details soon): a delegation to Cyprus, Israelis, palestinians to meet with Lebanese refugees there. Any thoughts on whether it's worthwhile and on how to organize it?

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the brainwash goes to that extent. We are taught to be afraid; we complete the rest of it ourselves, some more, some less. But Lezard was talking about getting the media attention. The question is no whether the army will want or not want to. The question is whether they will dare.
Lezard, I have something to ask you. You seem well connected in the Lebanese blogosphere. I was wondering if you could perhaps spread the word about the forum there. I was thinking myself of copying exrtacts and getting people to reply, but of course the direct participation of the bloggers will be even better.

I already strated telling friends about this forum, I think I'll post the link in the blogs as a next step.
And as for my idea, glad you understood it. media is the key to everything, everywhere. now the problem is how can we can enough people + the media? |

You tell me. I'm sure you have mailing lists and I'm sure you have your contacts. I would suggest posting notices in the university and in student quarters. I would be glad to help design posters and leaflets, and also contacting the British and Israeli media. How many people would be "enough", anyway? And where would you plan to do it? Daheishe (sp)?
