Dear all,
I would like to share with you a simple approach of analysis which can lead us to what has led the conflict in the region become more intensive and expand its circle until it has become not only a conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians but also a global conflict against the whole Arab nation.
I would prefer to firstly mention some principles which I personally believe in (as a neutral observer, NOT as a Palestinian) and which have been helping me analyze the recent progress in the conflict of the region which are as follows :
1- Occupation of a region of land which belongs to a specific country according to historical, geographical, and logical indicators must be resisted by the owners of the country by force if political attempts (Direct/Undirect) to remove the occupation from the occupied region do NOT work. (Legacy of Self-Defence yields Legacy of Resistance).
2- Prisoners with NO convincing reasons of being jailed MUST be returned back to their families by force if (Direct/Undirect) political (peaceful) attempts to get them out of the Jails do NOT work.
3- Unity is a natural phenomenon and therefore, a whole nation regardless of race or religion or country has the right to defend a group of people which belongs to the nation and which is being attacked violently by any side. (A whole nation is to be involved within a war declared against a group of people belonging to the nation).
4- “Civilians are not a side of a war. Civilians’ lives are to be protected and isolated from lines of fire drawn by militants of the war” (Said by the 13th term of Geneva Convention).
Starting from the 2nd point which, as we know, was the piece of match by which the current fire in the South of Lebanon was generated. We all know from different sources about the existence of some Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli jails whose periods of trials have already passed away but they haven't yet been given the legal right by the IDF to leave the jails and go back to their families. The problem here is that there have been many attempts from different sides some of which made by lawyers of those prisoners who should have been released along time ago to introduce some legal complaints in front of Israeli responsibles of Justice but all of these complaints have been avoided. There also have been some attempts made by politicians working for the International Red Cross to hold diplomatic negotiations with the Israelis regarding the issue of those prisoners but the promises given by the Israeli government during those negotiations to release all the prisoners who are currently spending time out of their trials' periods have not yet been carried out! So, the question that should be raised here now is : "What makes the Israeli government release prisoners from their jails after the periods of their trials have ended if all peaceful (non-violent) means of convincing the Israeli ministers about the right of these prisoners to be released have not worked?!”. I myself as a person whose initial intension is to make peace in the region with the other side would surely change my view about the qualification of the other side as a peace partner for me due to the unfair way of its treatment with my prisoners in Israeli jails. This deflection in my intension is NOT due to my desire for violence to be practiced by me in the region BUT it’s due to the disability of all peaceful ways represented by negotiations and all Security Council decisions taken regarding the issue of prisoners of processing an unfair treatment practiced against me by the other side. So, Resistance in either Palestine or Lebanon is nothing but a reaction due to Israeli violations to human principles and International laws in the region especially those relating to the issue of Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners who are still kept within Israeli jails although the periods of their trials have already passed. From all of this, I can conclude that we, Palestinians and Lebanese, two Arab UNITED peoples whose suffering is the same and who both have prisoners who are still kept in jails have the right to use other alternative ways apart from all the useless peaceful experiences that we have encountered so far to oblige the Israeli government to release our prisoners from their jails. Now, what are these alternatives?! We have observed through our experiences in the conflict with the Israelis that man’s body whether it’s alive or dead has a distinct value in an Israeli’s beliefs and the Israeli government can NOT at all compromise on the life or the dead body of an Israeli person. So, lots of things inside the circle of Israeli achievements one of which is keeping as many prisoners from Palestine or Lebanon as possible for no reasons can be compromised against keeping every Israeli be safe and alive. From this angle the idea of capturing Israeli soldiers from a battle held between resistant wings and the IDF has been created. Now, if capturing soldiers from the Israeli army and keeping them alive as equivalent prisoners in our jails is a way that works to oblige the Israeli government to start SERIOUSLY working on replacing these soldiers with a number of our prisoners that are still kept inside Israeli jails for no reasons. Then, we’ll go for it! And it worked many times before when Hezbuallah replaced dead bodies of Israeli soldiers who were killed during a battle that they had with the IDF along time ago with a big number of Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners who were inside Israeli jails at that time. I want you to observe here that capturing soldiers from a battle with keeping them alive in order to use them to achieve political aims with the other side has no violent dimensions because “lives are against lives”. There is no killings here and therefore it’s not a violent action. I have been wondering too much why the Israeli government hasn’t released all prisoners who have already spent their trials’ periods in its jails although they are quite aware that those prisoners are going to be released at the end of the day either peacefully or by replacing them with a number of their soldiers?! Why is the Israeli government waiting for more soldiers to be captured in order to release the prisoners from their jails?!. Hezbullah could not have captured any soldier if their Lebanese prisoners have been released and returned back to their families.
Now, regarding the 4th point relating to civilians living in a region of a conflict … we all agree that targeting civilians and innocent layers of people in a war is entirely forbidden and whoever does so should be punished and accused as a war criminal. We’ve recently observed and no body can deny that the Israeli government was the first side who ordered the Israeli army to target civilians and innocent children while sleeping inside their houses in Qana in the south of Lebanon after the army had failed militarily to overcome the legal resistance of Hezbullah. The crime made by the Israeli army supported by the US government against children, women, and old men in that village has proved that the hearts of those terrorist soldiers are empty of kindness or any respect to human rights. Now, the silence and the disability of the security council and all the sides which always call all the countries in the world to be committed to the international laws and the human rights to take punishing decisions against the Israeli soldiers and commanders who did the first crime against civilians have encouraged Hezbullah by equivalence to add Israeli civilians to the list of their of their military targets. So, the starting point of killing civilians and innocents in either Israeli or Palestinian cities was tracked by the Israeli government. No civilian in an Israeli city could have been targeted by rockets of Hezbullah if no civilian in a Lebanese village was killed by the Israeli army. So, regardless of whoever practices a war crime against civilians is a war criminal or not, we should admit that Equivalence of targets in wars is the only legal way by which more Israeli crimes against civilians in the region can be stopped because no international voice the most important of which is the security council is able to even condemn the terrorist decisions being taken by the Israeli government against civilians in Palestinian and Lebanese cities.
The last point I would like to highlight here is the 3rd one relating to the nature of the unity of a nation when a war is declared against a group of people belonging to this nation .. Talking about myself, I see that the Israeli government believes in the permanent existence of separation among Arabs as a whole nation especially in the middle east. The Israeli government has created such a belief for the Israelis depending upon the cultural conflict that they have observed between the two groups of muslims (Shia’as and Sunnis). The conflict between Shia’as and Sunnis started to exist when a Sunni had killed a religious leader of the Shia’as in the past and since then, some kind of hatred has been generated inside the hearts of the two groups towards each other. However, the more important than hatred is that the two groups are sitting on the same tree of Islam which have common pure roots whose principles and religious lessons always give strength to the branches of such a tree. We, muslims believe in that when a person dies, that means that his/her time of surviving allocated by the creator (Allah) for him/her has finished regardless of the reason which has caused the death of this person. So, muslims should not get separated and hate each other for any reason in this life even though if a Muslim kills his brother by whatever means. This nice principle of permanent and strong belief in god’s willing to do whatever he wants in this life prevents the enemies of muslims from thinking that hatred or internal fighting among layers of muslims is a successful way of overcoming a group of them. Unfortunately, the Israeli government had focused only on the existence of hatred between the two groups of muslims living in Lebanon as a good way of making the army get victory at the end of the war that they declared against the Lebanese people. They didn’t think of the strong one belief in god existing inside the hearts of both groups which prevent any one of them from being the enemy of the other. This is important!!. That’s why every single Muslim on this planet got angry when the pictures of those children killed by rockets while they were sleeping inside their houses in Qana were shown via the different means of media. So, the stupidity of the Israeli government in assessing the unity of all Arabs as one nation and the sharpness of anger that would be created inside every human being towards them before they declared a crime against civilians in Lebanon has made the current war be understood by every Arab in the region to be against him/her. So, the problem now for the Israeli government is how to stop not only the resistance of Hezbullah but the resistance of all the Arabs in the middle east but in the world as a whole nation. It’s a global war now as I see it.
Thanks a lot for reading the many points that I have included above and would be happy to hear different points of view about any of them from you.
Keef safe and be calm

Dear Mahmoud, There is one point that I didn't get. You say that Israel initiated the violence toward civilians with Kana, but Israeli cities (Afula, Haifa, Tiberias, Naharia and others) have been targeted since the first day of the war.
